However, wholly homogeneous self-lubricating tool materials often face a trade-off between mechanical and anti-friction properties. To address this issue, a novel gradient self-lubricating cemented carbide tool material with dual-scale WC particles on the surface layer was designed and fabricated using spark plasma sintering (SPS).
